Awright you cunts! I couldn't remember the last time I posted a meaningful entry on one of these sites of mine, and was reconsidering my blog boycott because i feel a shakeup in blogspace is needed, and maybe i can be the facilitator. Whether or not this is a wise investment of my time is another question altogether and one to which i already know the answer, but i need some creative outlet other than trying to craft animal shapes out of my semen*
Seriously though, i'm facing some rather big questions in my life at the moment, so i should probably be devoting all my time to addressing those, but i feel i want to express myself freely on a daily basis with you people because i'm not at university and i'm missing speaking to young people who share my interests and vile sense of tumour.

The first of these questions is (i) Ernst&Young or (ii) PricewaterhouseCoopers?
The second is "Why have i been such a cock for so long and denied the musical brilliance and BEAUTY of Mr Pete Doherty, especially The Libertines and also Babyshambles?"
The third is "Am i going to be asking myself a similar question to this in 2 years time about Dirty Pretty things? (who I still think suck balls)"
The fourth is "Why don't more bands use recorders like Moldy Peaches do in that "Take Me To Your Leader" song?
The fifth is "Will I ever feel as much love in the air as I did last Saturday night/Sunday Morning?"
The sixth is "Why does Facebook leave you wanting more? like a physical relationship with the people behind it.. though his apologetic didn't make me find him particularly attractive, neither did that fact that he's american, and that he's a he (male)
The seventh is "Why doesn't someone give me some money to make some good TV cos everyhting on it is shit?" that's a bit angry
The eigth is "Isn't it massively depressing to think how everyone out of uni is now going to be changing iinto a work-bot with some pinstripe suit and a flash car?"
The ninth is "Why are Mogwai so good?"

Possibly the most interactive album ever. Beautiful little 3-D visualizer goggles built into the album case itself. Lots of clever, intricate drawings from Alex Grey that do crazy things when you catch them right, through the glasses. they fuck up your eyes a bit. In terms of the album itself, i've listened to it 3 times, but I'm waiting to listen to it with big over-ear headphones before i make more an informed opinion. sounds good so far though

I don't know if it's just me but I can't find the Tool album "Lateralus" anywhere online that isn't a £19 German import (on amazon). Play.com have mysteriously stopped selling it, as have amazon (i mean English copies). Next time anyone goes into HMV or an equivalent that you'd hope would stock it, check it out because I reckon something very dubious ('dubes') is going down. Apparently it sold 600,000 copies in the first week, and new album 10,000 Days (http://www.play.com/play247.asp?pa=srmr&page=title&r=CD&title=931021) is
set to do the same.

Don't say i'm biased: "For this reason margarine manufacturers started to reduce trans-fat in their products since the mid-nineties. In many cases, the current levels are below that of butter now."

This last bit is really good stuff, but "in many cases" still isn't across the board, so don't dismiss me as stoopid for saying years ago that eating butter might be better for you than eating margarine.

If you haven't done so already, I recommend that you go out and buy (actually no we shouldn't want to support Q corp and it's ignorant, gullible, fickle readership by shelling out £4 for what's essentially a magazine of Calvin Klein adverts and reviews of Missy Elliot and Madonna re-releases) a copy of Q for this month, sub-moniker: 100 Greatest Albums Ever.

You can imagine my excitement and anticipation at reading this, a chance to see all my favourite artists get the recognition they deserve and for those members of the public who spend a decent portion of their life listening to good music to finally wake up and smell the shit (namely coldplay) which doesn't merit being in this list.

I can't really have a go at Q for the results of the list because it was thrown over to the reader's of the magazine to nominate their 5 best albums, which would then be collected and drawn up in to a representative ranking tally (list). But i do blame Q because if they didnt put certain bands on their page's every month and give so many column inches to dreary dirge then certain bands wouldn't be as canonised as they now are (EuGoogly Eugoogly Zoolander etc (sic))

For general interest, i will list my top 5 albums, which i hasten to add all made it into this list. No particular order:

The last one of these was a toss up, i included it at the last moment in place of The Doors' "LA Woman", and although some might question its inclusion, i grew up with sniff sniff it chaged my life etc etc this album is where my uber-appreciation of music began and from whence hasn't looked back

Some, like automatic for the people, is this it and californication are great albums, but surely not deserving of their high placing (i'd argue that even though i prefer the latter 2, they shouldn't have been included since the list refers to the best EVER..theyve only been around 5 years or so)

I'm waiting for people to defend these inclusions before i lay down my arguments for why they can't be there, otherwise i'd be here all night and ive got an exam on The Nature Of Truth in 65 hours which takes some revising for

We watched Zoolander last night, and it was brilliant. I was saying that i remember watching it at the cinema with edmund and richard w, they came out and hated it (dismissed it as "inane piffle" or some such overstated/wordy verdict i don't doubt) , whereas i was all too willing to award it cult status right there and then (funnily enough the exact same thing happened when we saw vanilla sky which they panned but i enjoyed - fundamentally because of the soundtrack and seeing how it deviated from the spanish original)

Owen Wilson is absolutely brilliant in this film, he is pretty cool. david duchovny puts in a brilliant cameo as a trampie former hand model conspiracy theorist type and it has david bowie in as well. and will ferrel is good in this film (cue people jumping on my back talking about gags to laugh ratios snore snore, it's a good film watch it without preconceptions and you'll enjoy it - unless you're dull.. and then there's no hope)

I hope you've all had a pleasant couple of days, got pissed and given your families special loving etc,.. I went to Maldon mud race yesterday, didn't compete obviously (looks near fatal, hypothermia inducing and a pretty large percentage puke as they stumble across the finishing line..)it was great, held at the prom down by the quayside, masses upon thousands of spectators crammed round the marine lake, along the sea wall and up on the hilly banks watching 200 men, women, general nutters wade across 500 metres of mud, including a frantic slide and scramble from the starting line and a plunge into the River Blackwater, which is subsequently waded through at waist level, emerging up onto the mud banks and a race to the finish, different techniques including running, walking, crawling on all fours and one loser who thought the best way to do it was by lying on his back with his head pointed at the finishing line and sort of doing backstroke skulls in the mud This didn't work All in all it was very good fun, raised about £25,000 for charity and set me up for the day.
