** (I knew he was a little up his own arse but having a dirty alcopop named after HIS group..)

everything i said about Muse being shit on record i whole-heartedly retract. I listened to New Born followed by Citizen Erased earlier on full volume (while a little stoned) and it blew me away. So yeah, sorry. But Absolution is shit (i remember listening to it in Brittany last year and wanting to kill myself. Then Rob sorted us out with some Godspeed..

Today's Best Song Ever- "Storm In A Teacup" Red Hot Chili Peppers

Thursday, May 18, 2006

Kojak's suprise hand-job horror
  • "Do you owe your housemates a few quid? Don't know how you're going to repay them the money?....well why not consolidate all your debts by jacking of a sleeping housemate?"
  • "I'm pretty sure its technically rape to hand off a slumbering housmate, even if wearing marigolds"

Today's Best Song Ever - "Love Me Two Times" The Doors
(not the Aerosmith version) - that jangly&weepy guitar followed by the Hammond solo round about 1.30 min, Jim's guttural/sexy voice

Separated At Birth

Credit must go to Matt for this spot. (Sleazy Slick) Hadley is getting more coverage than he could have ever wished for on here in the last few days.

To Pack

rob i recommend you don't go to America without packing the following essential items, which should accompany anyone our age on holiday, wherever they might be going

  • 1 x "Tea For The Tillerman" record
  • 1 x "The Clash" record
  • 1 x bandanna/headscarf
  • 1 x "Letters From My Windmill" (Preferable for French holidays)
  • 1 x bag of weed
  • 1 x pack of Long Blue Rizla (getting a bit bored of silver, less paper i know but they taste rank and i prefer rolling with blues
  • Cigarettes (optional)

it's fun typing "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" into and finding only 9 people (including me) out of the entire univeristy-linkage system rate it as a 'favourite book'. blinkered. try typing in "soulfly" or "dennis pennis" or "harry hill" too.

Oh God

There's a brand new Carry On film in the pipeline, "Carry on London", the first in 20 years. It's going to star Vinnie Jones, Shane Richie, Zora Suleman, Tony Hadley, Neil and Christine Hamilton
Premise/Synopsis: The movie's plot will focus on a limouisine firm hired to take celebrities to the Herberts a fictitous UK version of the Oscars.

"the creators promise to revive the innuendo and slapstick humour seen in the previous 31 Carry On movies": Oh god

"production has been delayed for three years by financial problems": doesn't surprise me

Hmm.. Yes..

Going to look like a right tool

I thought you might like this
One of the British national daily newspapers is asking readers what
it means to be British. Some of the emails are hilarious but this is one
from a chap in Switzerland:

Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a
Belgian beer, then travelling home, grabbing an Indian curry or a
Turkish kebab on the way, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch
American shows on a Japanese TV. And the most British thing of all?

Suspicion of anything foreign.

Amazing win chaps, amazing game, and amazing goals, just don't know why this royal twerp had to be there presenting the cup. jokes

Just for you Robb

thought this might be right up your street

I''m always very suspicious when i see early morning TV presenters wearing things like this: call me cynical, maybe i've seen "To Die For" a few too many times, but without sounding offensive, it seems a bit sad to dress like this unless you're somehow looking to improve your job prospects in the boss' office post-transmission

Disclaimer: obviously women can wear what they want without someone labelling this as a means to an end (career-furthering). but seriously, that channel5 weathergirl...

you could probably object to these outfits on style grounds also. straight out of the 80's

seriously chaps, go to teletext (on bbc 1 or 2) page 533. a little treat, sandwiched in between such dross as Snow Patrol and Jack Johnson in the UK top 10 album chart not only is there a Pearl Jam album, but also Tool - 10,000 Days.

Pub lunches/John Locke's grave

I've just discovered that John Locke died, and is buried, in a little village called High Laver which is just east of Harlow. When I get back in the summer is anyone up for a little excursion there? Great photo opportunities.

I bet this girl is a philosophy student

Well done chaps

Nice one Colchester (and Southend), these are some of the players you might be facing in the Championship next season...

Sorry about your gnome "Geoff/Jeff" mate, I know you've had him since GCSEs

I've got wood there

Timothy Leary: Hero or Villain
("I asked Bobby Dylan, I asked The Beatles, I asked Timothy Leary, but he couldn't help me either")
(this is predominantly for Rob to have a little rant)
  • Anyone else hate the term "counterculture icon"

Having originally thought that the Reading line-up was shocking this year, I was delighted to hear that Slayer have been added to the Sunday (Pearl Jam/Dresden Dolls Day). Seeing them live would be amazing, it'd be just like Tatoo The Planet minus Pantera (DD R.I.P)

Even Saturday doesn't look too bad. Arctic Monkeys followed by Muse = some pretty frenetic live action.

Friday looks atrocious. (Yeah Yeah Yeahs - George: "Yeah Yeah Yeah - what?!"

So crucify the ego, before it's far too late
To leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical,
And you will come to find that we are all one mind
Capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable.
Just let the light touch you
And let the words spill through
And let them pass right through
Bringing out our hope and reason ...before we pine away.

Oh Fred

Miss Paltrow is beautiful. I watched "The Royal Tennenbaums" a couple of nights ago, and the nature of her character in that combined with her natural beauty and spellbinding bone structure = high levels of desirabilty.
What makes me mad is that she's married to that c**t from C***play.

Tool fans (Billy/Jules): how far does this miss the mark by?

House parties hosted in a 5 storey townhouse where there's a string of live bands playing in the front room right next to your face are brilliant. Covers included Sympathy For The Devil, Wicked Game, Seven Nation Army, Bohmeian Like You,The Bends, Just: all of which were really good.
Happy Birthday John

Nice "Karma Police" cover mate
